There are different problems for the patch and different solutions as well. Below are the solutions on how to fix the Frost City Patching problems.

Remember this as well, your Perfect World directory is usually located in C:/Program Files/Perfect World

Uninstall - Reinstall - Patch

The easiest but time consuming solution is definitely this. The moment you encounter a Frost City patching problem and you do not know what to do, just do the ff:

1. Uninstall the PW Client. (you can download the manual patch here, while doing the uninstall-reinstall of the client)

2. Reinstall the PW Client.

3. Patch.

Remember, this is the easiest but the LOOOOONGEST solution.

World_targets.txt error and fix

The moment you receive a World_targets.txt error, cancel your patching and do the ff:

1. Find Perfect World directory folder, element>maps>world>

2. Right click on world_targets.txt

3. Select “Properties”

4. Uncheck “read only”

5. Click on “Apply”

6. Run Perfect World Client and patch.

Manual Patching

1. Download the Frost City patch here

2. Extract file “ec_patch_12-27.rar”

3. Run PW Client

4. Click on “Update”

5. Open “ec_patch_12-27”

DDS Patching Problem

For the files with the .dds extension error, here is the solution:

1. Stop patching.

2. Locate your Perfect World Directory

3. Inside the directory, locate the elements folder and open it.

4. Inside, locate the info folder and open it.

5. The folder contains dds and text files. Delete them all. (Or cut and paste them into a backup directory if youre in doubt about this solution).

6. Once everything inside the info folder is deleted, resume patching.
